Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Establishment of Kolbe Franciscan Ashram
On November 15, 2008, Kolbe Franciscan Ashram, the second Friary of St. Maximilian Kolbe Province concluded the Silver Jubilee celebrations of its establishment that was begun an year ago which was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Manuel Manicompel, the first native Friar-Priest of the Province. The concluding ceremony took place at 10.00 a.m. of the 15th November with a solemn concelebrated Eucharistic celebration. The members of Kolbe Franciscan Ashram were happy to have Rev. Fr. Joseph Cilia, former Provincial Custos and the founder of the Ashram to be the main celebrant for the occasion in which Rev. Fr. Mathew Purayidom, Minister Provincial gave the message. The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a small public meeting and an Agape. On the occasion Rev. Fr. Joseph Cilia also inaugurated the Kolbe Franciscan Spirituality Centre which was an initiative of the members of Kolbe Franciscan Ashram as a memorial to commemorate the Silver Jubilee. The students of Kolbe Franciscan Ashram had also showed their enthusiasm to commemorate the Silver Jubilee with the foundation of Kolbe Prison Mission that was inaugurated on August 15, 2008.
