On Saturday, November 08, 2008, we organized the “Sarva Matha Shanthi Ghosh”. There were participants from 16 Schools from Ernakulam and Trissur districts. As had been planned the competitions were began at 10.00 a.m. The competitions conducted this year were: Group song, English and Malayalam Essay writing and English and Malayalam Elocution. The competitions were divided for the High School students and the Plus two students. We could finish all the competitions by around 01.30 p.m. In the afternoon we held a public meeting began at 2.30 p.m. We had invited eminent people from Hindu, Christian and Muslim religions to speak for the occasion. Mr. K.M Roy, an eminent journalist, presided over the meeting and graced the occasion by lighting the lamp and delivering a meaningful presidential address. Then Swami Purandharanandha, Ibrahim Maulavy and Fr. Mathew Purayidom, our Provincial spoke on different aspects of inter­religious dialogue and the need to live in harmony. The prizes were distributed by Miss Renjini Sivadas. This year both the prestigious Group Song Competition and the Overall Champions Trophy were won by the Vidyadiraja Vidyabhavan, Angamaly. We take this occasion to thank the Franciscan Youth affiliated to Assisi Shanthi Kendra, Karukutty and the Student-Friars form Kolbe Franciscan Ashram, Aluva for their help in organizing the whole event.
